Prissy and Mary Wyno were the only two notable witches of Hexie, but there were other colorful or eccentric ladies. Sarah Jane, the goat lady, a recluse because of a broken heart. Mamie, the unkept lady who inhabited the grand house of the coal company superintendant. Cass and Sue, two likeable spinsters, also known as Martha and Mary of Biblical reference. Elizabeth “Betsy,” the granddaughter of Prissy who took the coal company to task and won posthumously.
